Vicarstown - Athy

Back to civilisation!! Reached the historical town of Athy around midday after passing through locks 26 and 27. We did some shopping (including a nice drink in the nearby pub) and had a first view on the River Barrow which we planned to navigate the following day.
We also found seemingly brand-new moorings right in the middle of the town
but decided to stay in the canal for the night.
In the late afternoon the sun breaking through the dark clouds
bathed the canal and the adjacent industrial aerea in a spectacular light.
